MY STORY

Hi, I’m Nicole Dunn, the founder of Heart Notes Candle Bar & Boutique. After 16 years in public service, life took an unexpected turn. What could have marked the end of a chapter became the beginning of an entirely new journey. Choosing resilience over defeat, I transformed personal loss into purpose by launching Heart Notes Candle Bar & Boutique—a space where creativity, comfort, and community converge.

The name Heart Notes is inspired by the world of fragrance, where the "heart note" defines the core essence of a scent, revealing its true character. That concept deeply resonated with me, as I’ve been on my own journey of discovering and embracing my authentic self. I wanted to create a space where others could do the same—express themselves freely, craft something meaningful, and connect with others in a genuine way.

As a proud Black female entrepreneur, my mission is to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, celebrated, and inspired. At Heart Notes, every candle tells a story—and I can’t wait to see what story you’ll create!
